SMEs Losing Thousands due to lack of Preparedness
Could you or your staff be opening the door of your SME to cyber criminals? If a recent study is to be believed, then you may need to call ADNS Group.
The report from Sky Business asked over 350 SME decision makers about the biggest threats to their business’ cyber security, with 18% of those surveyed saying they have been a victim of a cyber attack.
And it seems complacency and lack of forward planning is a big reason why SMEs arelosing on average £31,000 for everyday they are forced to close due to cyber attacks.
Businesses with fewer staff were more likely to underestimate the impacts of a cyber attack on their business, while those who have been in business longer (more than 20 years) reported the same level of underestimation. A number of companies also remarked that they were guilty of using unsecured public Wi-Fi networks when working outside the office.
Prevent Cyber Attacks before they happen
The importance of being prepared on protecting your IT network and data can’t be ignored- and not just for cyber attacks as the recent worldwide IT outage showed. The old adage of expecting the unexpected has maybe never been more true when it comes to IT networks with a steep rise in cyber crime from 2023 to 2024.
Having a plan in place should the worst happen will save businesses - large and small, time, money and the rather large headache that comes with data loss or a GDPR breach.
