What is the Police CyberAlarm?
The Police CyberAlarm is a government-funded cyber security tool created in response to the scale and rapid growth of cyber crime against UK businesses, charities, councils, schools, hospitals, and many other organisations. This software has so far identified over a billion potential malicious incidents, demonstrating its efficacy in tackling the global cyber threat.
How Does Police CyberAlarm Work?
A certified ADNS engineer will install a virtual or physical Police CyberAlarm Data Collector on your network. This technology will collect and process traffic logs to identify suspicious or malicious activity from your firewall or internet gateway, Network Intrusion Detection/Prevention Systems (IDS/IPS), anti-virus and anti-spam filters.
Any identified suspicious data is encrypted and transmitted to Police CyberAlarm servers for verification and analysis. This data can then be shared with police forces across the UK to collate and identify new trends or patterns in cyber criminal behaviour, informing their actions, advice and guidance to member organisations to better defend them from cyber attacks.
Who Can Benefit from a Police CyberAlarm?
Any business can become a Police CyberAlarm member organisation as long as they are responsible for the data shared, have a standalone firewall, an Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) number, and a compatible virtual or physical computing machine. ADNS Group’s experts can assist your business with meeting these requirements to streamline your experience. Once a member, organisations will receive regular reports from Police CyberAlarm documenting the identification of new trends and attacks, enabling you to assess vulnerabilities and mitigate any IT-based risk your business faces.
